Here are six simple ways you can avoid dry skin.

Apply moisturizer several times a day, if possible. Especially before going outside. Look for one with sun protection. It will have a SPF indication on the packaging.

Drink Plenty of water, six to eight glasses a day is the recommended amount.

Shower rather than bathe as soaking will take more moisture from your skin and lead to dry skin.

Use a good skin care routine that rehydrates your skin as much as possible. Make sure your makeup isn't undoing all your good skin care work. Use foundations, blushers, lipsticks and eye shadows which contain sun protection, moisturizing ingredients and vitamins.

Avoid harsh soaps. Look for moisturizing ingredients or cream bath gels.

Apply lots of body lotion preferably when your skin is still damp,so that you wrap the water content against your skin. Apply again before going to bed as the heat under your blanket helps expand your pores and aids absorption.
